Lab-Grown Diamonds
Kalaya Jewels uses only lab-grown diamonds for all its silver and platinum collections.
For every diamond of 1 carat or more, an official IGI certificate (International Gemological Institute) is included, guaranteeing its authenticity and quality.
These gems, also known as lab-grown diamonds, are chemically, physically, and optically identical to natural diamonds, but are created in advanced, controlled technological environments, with full respect for ethics and sustainability.

How Lab-Grown Diamonds Are Created
Lab-grown diamonds are produced through two main scientific processes:
- HPHT (High Pressure High Temperature)
This method replicates the extreme conditions found deep within the Earth where natural diamonds form. Carbon is exposed to pressures above 5 GPa and temperatures over 1500°C, resulting in the creation of a diamond crystal, just like in nature. - CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition)
Inside specialized growth chambers, a small diamond seed is exposed to an ionized carbon plasma. Through chemical vapor deposition, the diamond grows layer by layer.
The materials used — such as pure carbon, hydrogen, and methane — are carefully selected to ensure the highest purity and quality of the final gem.
Natural Diamonds vs. Lab-Grown Diamonds
- Origin
Natural diamonds form over millions of years deep within the Earth. Lab-grown diamonds, on the other hand, are created within weeks in safe and controlled environments. - Environmental and Social Impact
Laboratory production has a significantly lower environmental impact, avoiding intensive mining and the overuse of natural resources.
It also ensures an ethical and transparent supply chain, free from issues such as child labor or conflict funding (conflict-free).
